Hello, I’m Sara
I am the owner and primary pet photographer at Paw Print Studio in Connecticut. It goes without saying that I love dogs!
So much so, that I have focused my photography business on capturing their unique personalities. I know first-hand the role dogs play in our lives and our families.
If you have any questions before booking your session, you can schedule a free consult or reach out to me via phone or email:

Outside of pet sessions, I volunteer time to create portraits of rescue dogs. A cause that is near and dear to my heart (I know anyone who has rescued a dog can relate!). I’m proud to be a member of Hearts Speak, a global network of artists providing services pro-bono to save and support animals.

There is NO expectation of good behavior! Dogs will be dogs and I have worked with dogs of all temperaments. We use treats, toys, fun voices and interesting sounds to keep your dog engaged and having fun - and most importantly we have patience! We work at their pace and take as many breaks as needed. You’ll leave the session proud of your dog - having never thought they could ever sit for a photo. Also, the dogs you see posed in my photos, weren’t actually sitting still or posing! It only takes me a split second to capture that moment.

A pet portrait is full service experience that results in custom artwork in your home. Your session includes a pre-consultation where I can learn how to customize the session for you and your dog, a private portrait session in my studio, your choice of color background, a viewing session with 40-50 images where you can select and order your favorites, and hand delivery (by me!) of your artwork to your home.

Every artwork purchase includes the web-size digital file. For example, if you purchase an album that contains 10 images, you will also receive the web-size digital files for those 10 images.

Yes! On our initial phone call, we’ll discuss all family members that you’d like to have included. Based on the number of people and pets, I will customize the session to accommodate.

Yes! I love capturing the bond that dogs have with their families. At your design consultation, we’ll discuss who you’d like in the photos and we’ll make sure we capture it all. As the parent, you may not want to be in the photos, but I will encourage you to get in there - you won’t regret it.

Click on any of the Book Your Free Consult buttons on my site. You will be taken to a contact form with a few questions about you and your pet. I will reach out to set up your initial consultation either on the phone, zoom or in-person at my studio. If you’d like to move forward after that, we find a date a book your session!

After you’ve booked your session, I will send you a prep guide that share everything you need to know to be ready. From exercise on the morning of, to grooming in the weeks before - you’ll know exactly what you need to do to be ready for the big day. My dog photography studio is in West Hartford, Connecticut. It is a safe, quiet space that's easy to clean up if there are any messes or accidents. There is also plenty of outdoor space to take breaks.

Dogs are part of our families. Despite the big impact they have on our everyday lives, their lives are so short - and we all want to celebrate how unique they are and how special our bond is with them. A portrait session of your dog will capture their personality in a way that you will never be able to with phone. And a camera roll of photos that lives on your phone will never be as impactful as a beautiful portrait hanging on your wall that makes you smile everytime you walk past.
Everyone will be able to see your dog as you see them with all their personality, goofiness and regalness. You'll be the owner of the coolest dog with the coolest artwork in your home.
