In the studio: Chion Wolf and her dog, Gray

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Chion Wolf and her dog Gray in the studio. Chion is a well-known for her show, Audacious on Connecticut Public Radio, and Gray is her loyal canine companion. I was so excited to meet these two and capture their special bond.

Chion rescued Gray during the pandemic - and I was intrigued to learn about his breed which is “Eastern European Village Dog”! There’s technically no wolf in him - but he certainly looks like a beautiful, gentle wolf. Chion and Gray were a perfect duo - both of them were calm, inquisitive, serene and happy - they say Owners look like their dogs but in this case it’s temperament that’s a perfect match.

We started the shoot by introducing Gray to the studio and allowing him to explore his new surroundings. With my studio set up to be as comfortable and calming as possible, Gray soon settled in and was eager to pose for the camera. Chion was the perfect handler, providing Gray with the encouragement and support he needed to feel at ease.

One of my favorite shots was of Chion and Gray posed together - both smiling. You can just feel the warmth and love between the two. Gray's alert expression and perked ears gave the image a sense of energy and vitality, while Chion's calm and serene gaze provided a sense of balance and harmony.

Of course, we did the treat catching photos which are always a favorite - and he was a natural!

Gray catching a treat like a pro!

Chion’s reaction to the photos was exactly what I strive for:

“Oh My gosssssshhhh these are AMAZING! I can't wait to share. Thank you SO SO SO MUCH! YOU ARE GIFTED! ♥️”

Happy clients that will have artwork of their beloved pet in their home forever - that’s what I’m here for!
