A Pet Portrait Session with Willow
Every pet photo session is unique and filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Willow into our West Hartford, Connecticut studio for her portrait session. From elegant black backdrops to vibrant pink hues and serene blues, Willow's session was a celebration of her personality and the special bond she shares with her family.
Willow's session began with her up on a soft platform to help her get comfortable with the lights and everything around her. We started on a black background and a classic butterfly lighting style that illuminated her curly fur. These images are sweet, timeless and capture her sweet nature.
Transitioning to a cheerful pink backdrop, Willow's session took on a whimsical charm as she embraced the opportunity to let loose and have fun. From donning a flower crown to sporting stylish glasses, Willow's playful spirit shone brightly against the vibrant backdrop. With treats as incentives and peanut butter for extra enthusiasm, Willow's joy was palpable as she chased balls and delighted in every moment.
Lastly, against a backdrop of tranquil blue, we captured more of her sweet, playful expressions and her curiosity as we brought out the peanut-butter scented bubbles!
While Willow's mom preferred to stay behind the camera, her presence was felt throughout the session as a source of comfort and support. With a watchful eye and a heart full of love, Willow's mom provided reassurance and encouragement, allowing Willow to shine brightly in front of the lens.
One week later, when Willow’s mom came for her viewing session, I had pre-designed an album with all her images and mocked up wall art options using snapshots of her walls that she had in mind. Inspired by the modern, bright aesthetic of our acrylic panels, she selected four captivating portraits to adorn her walls. Opting for a square format and a 2x2 grid layout, Willow's portraits will take center stage in a display that celebrates her beauty and personality.
In addition to the acrylic panels, Willow's mom decided to share the joy of her session with a fine art print for her daughter—a heartfelt gesture that will serve as a timeless reminder of the love they share for their beloved pet.
In every pet portrait session, there lies a story waiting to be told—a story of love, connection, and the unique bond between pets and their families. With Willow's session, we had the privilege of capturing a chapter in that story—one filled with laughter, joy, and cherished memories.
