Your top 3 Pet Portrait Questions answered

Lately I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful dog and cat owners and I hear so many great questions. Here are the top 3 questions I’ve heard - and here are my answers!

1. Do you do multiple dogs in one session?
Yes! So many of you have big wonderful families with multiple dogs and sometimes a combination of dogs and cats! The most important part of a portrait session is keeping everyone calm and happy. Sometimes one sibling shows the other that this is fun and this is how you do it! Other times, its their comfort with each other that allows them to relax and have fun. Either way, we usually start by photographing each dog individually and then once they' understand the assignment, we put them both in together. Clients with multiple pets usually opt for 1 large framed piece of the pets together and then an album with all the other images to preserve this moment in time and show their true personalities.

The most I have photographed is 4 dogs, I also did a session with 2 cats and a dog! My session fee includes the base session price and then an additional fee for each additional dog (or cat).

2. Can family members be in some of the photos?
Definitely! I love when clients join their pets in the portraits. Before your session, I’ll ask who you’d like included so I can be prepared. I have lots of options for including family members beside the typical posed photos such as your pup standing between your legs, or you and your partner holding hands above your pups head. If you’ve practiced some tricks with your pup, we’ll capture that! We’ll discuss your comfort level and I’ll be there to capture all those adorable candid and posed moments. There is no additional fee to include family members.

3. How much does it cost?
My sessions offer more than just timeless images - they're a complete experience, resulting in custom artwork that truly captures your dog’s personality and the bond you share. You’re memorializing a moment in time that gets more valuable as the years go by - truly an investment. The investment varies depending on what you choose for your final artwork, with most clients investing between $1,200 and $3,000. As one recent client said, "The artwork looks so amazing in my space. It is an investment that will bring us years of happiness!" I’d be happy to discuss your options and help find something perfect for you and your home.
